NC cross country
Blue skies, grey clouds and passing showers provided a mixed-weather backdrop for the North Coast Cross Country Carnival. Despite the changing conditions, athletes, officials and spectators embraced the day, with plenty of muddy shoes, determined runners and smiling faces on display throughout the event. A total of 54 athletes were nominated to attend the carnival, with 52 athletes ultimately taking to the start line.
The Mid North Coast team hosted an excellent carnival, with competitors and supporters enjoying the challenging course despite the wet and varied conditions.
Our athletes with disabilities were the standout performers of the day, achieving an outstanding result with 100% of competitors qualifying to represent North Coast at the State Cross Country Championships.
In total, 12 LNC athletes earned selection in the North Coast team and will travel to the State Cross Country Championships at the Sydney Equestrian Centre, Horsley Park, on 22 July.
Congratulations to all athletes on their efforts, sportsmanship and achievements. We wish our state representatives the very best as they prepare for the next stage of competition.
